Science tour to the Netherlands
Members and their guests had a fascinating, hand-picked, international science tour, visiting the leading scientific and engineering facilities around Leiden.
Friends Chair and Trustee, Professor David Southwood CBE led this science tour to Leiden visiting centres including:
- ESTEC, the European Space Research and Technology Centre and its Space Expo exhibiton
- The Technical University Delft with its world beating hydraulics laboratory
- The Maeslett Storm Surge Barrier
- Leiden Old Observatory
- Hortus botanicus Leiden, the oldest botanical garden in The Netherlands
